Lordi is a Finnish hard rock band, formed in 1992[1] by the band's lead singer, songwriter and costume-designer, Mr. Lordi. The band is known for wearing monster masks and using pyrotechnics during concerts. They rose to domestic success in 2002 with their first single, "Would You Love a Monsterman?".
Lordi made history in 2006 by winning the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest with a then record 292 points, becoming the first Finnish performer to win the contest. Lordi was featured on the 2006 MTV Europe Music Awards in Copenhagen when the band's frontman, Mr. Lordi, presented the award for rock. They were also the closing act, playing their single "Hard Rock Hallelujah". They also performed onBritain's Making Your Mind Up for the Eurovision Song Contest. Lordi performed on the main stage at Otzzfest 2007 and later that year toured with Type O Negative and Twin Method until Halloween night.

Tomi Petteri Putaansuu (born 15 February 1974), better known by his stage name Mr. Lordi, is the lead vocalist in the Finnish heavy metal/hard rock band Lordi. Mr. Lordi is the singer, songwriter and costume designer for the band. He studied film making in Tornioand, while there, created Lordi's first music video.[1] His band Lordi went on to win the Eurovision Song Contest in 2006, scoring the most points for a single entry ever until the record was beaten on Eurovision song contest 2006.

Jussi Sydänmaa (born June 26, 1972 in MäntsäläFinland) is the guitarist, and one of the founding members of the Finnish metalquintet Lordi.[1]
He is also known under his stage name of "Amen". His character is an ancient mummy avenger, the god of gods. "Amen was the greatEgyptian god Amen-Ra. God of gods. After death Amen was mummified and couple thousands years later he was woken up to play in Lordi. Amen's public secret is women. He's an ancient lover."
He graduated as an Information Technology engineer in 2001 and has been making the website of Lordi.[citation needed]
The municipality of Mäntsälä granted Amen with Hard Rock memorial on June 26, 2006.[citation needed]Amen plays Gibson Les Paul Standard guitars.
Amen also recorded guitar riffs which were used by Ari Pulkkinen to create the soundtrack for PC game Shadowgrounds.

Samer El Nahhal (born July 11, 1975 in Espoo, Finland) is the current bassist of the Finnish hard rock band Lordi. He goes by the stage name of OX (both letters capitalized,) a possible reference to John Entwistle, the bassist for The Who, who was also nicknamed "The Ox."[1] OX plays an Ibanez BTB Bass.[2] His father is Egyptian and his mother is Finnish.[3] He made his Lordi debut as OX the hellbull in 2005, replacing the former bassist, Kalma. His father died when Samer was 13, so they moved back in Finland. Then he wanted to become a musician and wanted to take up the bass

Sampsa Astala, (born January 23, 1974 in VantaaFinland) is the former drummer for the Finnish metal band Lordi and the lead singer of the glam rock band Stala & So. His Lordi stage name, Kita, comes from the Finnish word meaning "jaws", "gap", or "maw". HisStala & So. stage name, Stala, comes from his own surname, Astala.
Kita joined Lordi in 2000 and with the band, went on to win the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest.[1] In recognition, the city of Karkkila, where he spent his teenage years, named its youth facilities after him.[2] He arranged and performed all backing vocals on the Lordi albums, but could not sing live due to his mask. Despite many critics wrongly accusing Lordi of being a satanic band, on the "Thank you to..." list on the Lordi albums, Kita thanks "Almighty God."
On September 30, 2010, it was announced that Stala & So. would be participating in the Finnish Eurovision Song Contest for 2011.
On October 4, 2010, there was an announcement from Lordi, saying that Kita no longer was a member. Further explanation told that his leaving was a joint decision between him and his bandmates, as Kita's increasing exposure as himself with Stala & So., rather than in costume as Kita, was "breaking the rules" of Lordi.

Leena Maria Peisa was born in Vantaa although she spent her teenage years in Porvoo. She has been playing the piano since she was six years old. She took to playing the syth in her teens. Her first band was Punaiset Messiaat which she joined in autumn 1994. While in Punaiset Messiaat she used the stage name "Lende Mielihyvä". Mielihyvä is the Finnish word for pleasure. After Punaiset Messiaat disbanded in 1998, Peisa concentrated on her education and studied Social Studies at the University of Helsinki. In 2003, she rejoined the band that now performed under the name Dolchamar, and in 2005 was invited to join Lordi by drummer Kita to replace the keyboardist Enary.[1] In Lordi, she takes on the persona of an unearthly Vampire Countess. The name Awa comes from Be Aware. On the band's website she is said to have many other names.[2] The British newspaper the Daily Mail wrongly credited a photo of a woman without make-up as being Awa. Her other band Dolchamar removed all photos from their website - this was perhaps a coincidence, or just to play along with the monster image. Some Greek television channels claim to have videos and photos of the band without stage make-up.[3] On July 25th it was announced through the band's website that she is leaving the band after their concert in 11th August 2012.
